If you don’t win your group in Round 1 but finish in the top 50% of scores on the day you will be invited to a Repechage event to play for a spot in the Zone Final.

Repechage is a practice in series competitions that allows participants who failed to meet qualifying standards by a small margin to continue to the next round.

In the World Golf Repechage, a player who does not win their Round 1 group competition but who still lodges a good score may fall into the repechage bracket. The theory is that a player who posts a competitive score, who is grouped with other player/s who post competitive scores, should not be unduly penalized by luck of the draw but have an opportunity to fight for a continuing place in the competition. As an example, a player may score 39 stableford points but lose to a player in his/her group who scores 40 stableford points. The score of 39 stableford points, however, is likely to be among the top 50% of scores posted in the days event which means they may qualify for the Repechage Event.

The Repechage event event only applies to Round 1 events. A selection of players that do not win their groups from each round after Round 1 will also progress to the following round based on excellent scores on the day, however, numbers will be very limited.

All players who qualify for the Repechage Event will be invited to their designated Round 2 host course on the day of the event. The Repechage Event does not include any accommodation, travel or meals just purely the round of golf with the opportunity to qualify for the Zone Final. The Repechage Event will run on the same day as the Round 2 event but as a separate competition. All repechage qualifiers will compete against the entire repechage field where the player with the best aggregate/combined Stableford score from Round 1 and the Repechage Event to advance to the Zone Final. This entry to the Zone Final will include all travel, accommodation, meals, etc. as outlined in the inclusions section of the website.
