Rules and Format

The World Golf Competition adheres to R&A and USGA rules.

Rounds 1-4 will be One v Three Format knockout rounds completed over 18-holes of golf that are completed on the same day. Scoring will be according to the Stableford system.

Round 1 will have the Top 50% of players progress in one of two ways.

  • Using the One v Three Format with group winners progressing to Round 2.
  • Players who do not win the One v Three Format but are in the Top 50% of Stableford scores on the day will progress to the Repechage Event.

Repechage Event will be 18 holes of golf played in conjunction with Round 2, with the best aggregate/combined Stableford scores from Round 1 and the Repechage Event progressing to the Zone Final.

All winners from Round 4 (Regional Final) will play in the World Final. The final will be played as 36 holes of golf over two days using handicapped strokeplay at the prestigious Punta Espada Golf Club in the Dominican Republic.

A competition that will determine the true world champion
You will compete using your World Handicapping System (WHS) handicap verified by World Golf Competition. By competing using the One v Three Format, we are removing the impact of variable weather and course conditions compared to other ‘top of field’ competition formats.

All events will be played under professional tournament conditions. Rules officials and marshals will be present with each group of competitors. This ensures that integrity of play is maintained.

Your entry fee covers all your event inclusions as you progress through The competition.

You may choose to pay in full or by instalments.
